Artist Statement

Art is fun, it's freedom, it's creative, and it's challenging. You take a blank canvas and create something that is unique to you and speaks to you. You can do anything and choose any subject; it's like getting dressed in the morning and choosing what to wear that day to reflect who you are and what you feel. I love to be fearless, playful, and childlike. Art to me is a peek into the soul, and you can do it until you are 100 years old and never be bored. It is my happy place.

Biography

Art will always be part of my life. Art is multigenerational in my family; my grandfather, my father, and my son have all been involved in art. I grew up loving the smell of oil paint and cannot remember any time where I was not creating something, whether it was oil painting, acrylic painting (my current favorite), drawing, needlepoint, cards, colored pencils, graphic pencils, jewelry, beading, or pastels.

For 15 years, I was a co-owner of a home design shop in Wyckoff, NJ and channelled my creativity to that venture. Now that I am in Vero Beach and retired, I have the luxury of exploring myself and my art to the fullest. Having this studio gallery is my biggest luxury; it allows me the freedom to explore, learn, and enjoy the company of my fellow artists at our special spot on Ocean Drive.
